News and Information About the 2013 Reunion

Cô Năm

Does anyone remember Cô Năm, the young British lady who came to Kensington Barracks to help us adjusting to the new life in London? I remember she has blond wavy hair, blue eyes and she spoke some Vietnamese (from the days she lived in Southern Vietnam until the Communist came.) She was especially kind to us kids, spent many hours arranging schooling for us and show us how to get around in the city. I remeber she even invited us to her appartment, not too far away from the barracks. I would love to see her again, or at least get in touch with her and let her know how much she meant to us.

I will try to look into old pictures I have from the barracks days and see if I can find her picture. However, I am sure some of you (especially the boys) remember her given how strikingly beautiful she was. :-)

I love co Nam, we called her Liz. She was kind, gentle and very patient to all the kids. I remember struggling learning English and she helped translate by speaking Vietnamese to us. I never forget co Nam. One of our member co Hong (youngest sister bac Tong gai) does volunteer work all her life. She may be able to help us track down co Nam. I will ask her. Chi

Yep I still remember her after 30y, how did you guess Ha -))) I think she wrote the book Dust Of Life, her name may be Liz Thomas, After barracks closed, she might have gone back with her equally strikingly handsome husband, who I am sure you remember, to Ireland. Let me know if you manage to track her down, would be lovely to see her at the reunion party..
