The rescue
The Wellpark rescue. The artist was not there and I am amazed someone managed to convey to him how things looked. There is no 'artistic licence' here: this is exactly what it looked like.

Let no one involved forget that there was some impressive ship handling involved throughout the rescue, right up to the time the lifeboat was recovered with no injuries in rough seas.We all owe Captain Hector Connell a lot of respect.

The picture is signed "Cumming". I believe Hector Connell has a second picture commissioned and may know more about the artist.
