Wellpark 35 Year Reunion - What a Party!!!

On Saturday 19 October 2013 in London, we celebrated the reunion of the Wellpark crew and the rescued Vietnamese boat passengers of the stricken MT151 after 35 years. 

With the chance of a new future, we just got on and did the best we could with making a life.  Even though many years have passed, that feeling of wanting to be able to say a personal thank you to our heroes have always stayed with us.  After the LA reunion 5 years ago, we had to opportunity to meet so many more crew members at this reunion in London.  To hear them recount their stories, and to realise the danger they had put themselves through to save us, has been truly humbling.

There were 152 attendees, some from LA, Miami, Kentucky, Seattle, Scotland, Jersey, Peterborough, Swindon, and many from all over London.  We were honoured by the attendance from 10 crew members: John Langstaff, Graham MacQueen, Patrick Carey, Calum MacMillan, George Fink, Graeme Anderson, Alistair McPherson, Mick Moran, Ronald Beaton and David Currie.  Pat Griffin, Carmel Fenton and her family were there to represent the late Andrew Griffin.  Fiona Berry and Elizabeth Steventon were there to represent the late Alistair Berry.

Photos and Film Footage

We have wonderful friends who have donated their time to photograph and film the event.  They will be working on processing the photos, editing and producing the film footage.  Once they are ready we will share them with you and let you know how you can obtain copies.  Please be patient, they will be doing the best they can in their own time, around their full time jobs.

Hi Diep,

You, Huy and the entire group in London done a great job organizing the 35th reunion in London.  I know how much work you all put in.  It took me 2 months to recover from the last event in LA.  We really enjoy seeing everyone after 35 years especially the crew members.  Thank you all for the amazing party.  Chi
