Yes, I remember you breaking your leg. You got home quick, but we had a long a depressing journey back home. In fact it looked like we might not even get home for Christmas. We dragged our way round three Korean ports, had a quick stop in Hong Kong and then back to Europe with packs of timber in the bottom of the holds, with containers stacked on top. And about 10 pleasure cruisers. We came out past Gibraltar into the Atlantic and the stacks of containers started collapsing. So after a couple of days heaved to, riding out the storm, we went into Lisbon to take out and re-stack the cargo. A long the way many radio controlled toys fell out of their boxes, so the cadets had races up and down the alleyways. I think we all paid off in a foggy Rotterdam. Mike

Hi Craig, remeber meeting you on the "Betty C?", went back to sea too,general cargo then tankers (BP).Left 10 years ago and now Tugmaster at Faslane shoving the Navy about!
Graham Smith from Orkney told me on Ships Nostalgia site that you were in NZ. Any jobs for aquamaster ASD drivers?winks.

Great pictures Craig. they really show what life was like in those few days at sea just after the rescue. Have you got any more?

Whoooo - hoooooooo !!!!!! Tremendous news that your going to the reunion as well - I'm only just getting my head round to the fact we are. My mum, husband and duaghter (she's 3 1/2) are all going too.

Great to hear you can make it. We are only there a week and top be honest it only works ou about 6 days and we plan on doing a couple of days at disneyland. This trip wasn't exactly planned so we are just aminly going for the reunion.

lucia van nu is living in Los Angeles right now.

Craig, can't wait to see you. Let me know if you need to be picked up at the airport. I will email you later regarding the hotel. If you can switch it to the same hotel my girl friend (Trang from Montreal) stayed then it will be nicer. She has a car and she can take you to places. The one you picked is right next to the train track and it runs all day. Let me know. Chi

I am Lucia, I am trying to use the computer without my daughters help. Most of my time I use to take care of the store. I saw on your page that you added some photos. Is that your two sons and your wife? Have you been living in New Zealand for a long time? I remember that I received your mother's letter that she told me you were a policeman in London. She posted the Christmas card to me quite many years ago. How is your mother? I hope she is doing well. She is very kind to me to let me understand something. I am very surprised you will come to California this week. My memory came back from 30 years ago. We were very lucky to meet the Wellpark crew saved our lives. I keep them all in my mind. Hope to see you soon.

I have so much work to make up for being out last week didn't have a chance to visit the web but heard from Thuy that there is so much activities there.

Tomorrow I will have to go pick up your painting and vase and figure out other way to send to you. The hotel gave your pkg to the mail center to mail for you. They called me yesterday morning and told me the price and I almost fell out of my chair. It costs $800 to ship via UPS (insured $1,500) and $550 via Fed EX (max insured $500). So I told them I would pick it up and figure out some other way to ship to you. I told them with $800 I could buy ticket to fly to New Zealand and hand deliver to you.
We enjoyed being with you last week and our new friendship. Thanks for making the trip to the reunion. Pls post the pictures up so everyone can view it. As soon as I get home I will ck them out, won't be home until 10 pm. Its hard to view pictures from my PDA. I can do email like this while on the train. We will meet up w/Mike Newton tomorrow at Knotts Berry Farms. Chi
